Overdue: Birth, burnout, and a blueprint for a better NHS

Published in 2020, Overdue is the story of my journey into and out of midwifery. Part memoir and part manifesto, it is both a love letter to the NHS and a clearsighted examination of what's working - and what's not - in the UK's maternity care system.

“I felt goose bumps, I smiled, I shed tears. Amity Reed's descriptions of childbirth and motherhood are the most powerful I have ever read."

Sheena Byrom OBE, midwife & author
